Day 7 in the Big Bad Ischl House….

One of the big positives and a huge source of feel good smiley moments, is the interractions you lovely lot are making with my verbal diarrhoea-esque ramblings on these updates.

It’s been a long time since my facebook notifications have been so filled with chatter like this. Little snippets of what you are all doing/feeling and of course, the masses of good wishes from all you wonderful people which just mean so very much to us. It’s a scary, worrying and unsettling time for all of us, whether we are locked down or not and hearing from you all, no matter what it is you say is making this oh so much easier. I’m filled with warmth and smiles when I read through your comments, it’s just so uplifting! Thank you! 😁 😍

Sometimes I’m struggling a bit to keep up with the replies etc, so apologies if I’ve missed one or two, but I do deeply appreciate each and every one of them.

Well I’m happy to say that the dreaded snow didn’t appear quite as it was forecast. There were quite a few cm about 50 – 100m altitude above us, so it is nice to look at, but we don’t have to physically move it anywhere. As much as we love the snow, it’s rubbing your nose in it a bit when it turns up and every ski resort is closed and you’re banned from going out to play on it. ☹️

Bitterly cold out though, so for me today was a day of housework and the odd bit of this and that. I’ve now fully commandeered the breakfast room for my sewing room…. but yet to switch it on and actually sew anything. No need to rush these things! 😜

Mark carried on with his boiler room project and finished it in pretty good time really… despite the lack of white paint in stock he managed to eke it out and finish the job. Turns out, we didn’t have a large 10Ltr tub of white paint…. we had a large 10Ltr tub with next to no white paint in it 😳 So much for being so smug about dashing off and buying paint the other week, we both failed to check the stocks of the most basic one before we went! 🙄 😂

As it was Mothers Day, we both got the opportunity to skype/facetime our Mums and it was lovely to speak to them both and know they were in good spirits and more importantly, good health. Both now in isolation and doing their best to keep occupied and sane, despite being very active, independent and sociable women. Thankfully both are keen gardeners so at least that makes it a little easier. Keep up the good work Mums!

Having finished the boiler room in really good time, my wonderful husband then set about making a fab roast dinner, which we teamed with a rather special wine from a very special friend. Both were amazing…. what a treat! 💕 It was even a roast dinner on a Sunday, which is a real rarity. Normally Sundays are big changeover days, so never a good time to be trying to cook or even relax uninterrupted and eat a roast. It all felt really rather special and a really ‘quality time’ evening. A superb way to round off the day and our first full week of lockdown. 😁

Stay safe everyone xx
